Data Centres Power Asia’s Digital Growth

As the digital economy continues to expand, data centres have become a critical infrastructure for businesses and cloud service providers across Asia.

In India, there are currently 28 operational data centres across 10 cities, with a combined capacity exceeding 318 MW. Leading global cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure — often called hyper-scalers for their extensive service offerings — are driving the data boom in the country. Emerging cities like Bhopal, Indore, and Pune are attracting new investments in data infrastructure.

Singapore hosts 70 data centres with a total capacity of 1.4 GW, while Japan has 251 data centres and China leads the region with 449 operational facilities. These numbers highlight the strategic importance of Asia in the global digital and cloud services ecosystem.

At NS Global Consultants Pte. Ltd., we support companies investing in or operating data centres with corporate secretarial, bookkeeping, compilation, and tax services, ensuring regulatory compliance and financial efficiency in this high-growth sector.
