Singapore continues to be a strategic hub for international trade, attracting a significant number of Indian enterprises. Today, it is estimated that over 11,000 Indian companies operate in Singapore, making it one of the largest overseas bases for Indian businesses.
Between 2010 and 2014, during his tenure as Chairman of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Mohan led a major initiative to document and map the presence of Indian companies in Singapore.
Key highlights of this initiative:
Compilation and publication of two directories featuring 1,000 and 2,500 companies respectively
Extensive research and collaboration with stakeholders, including the High Commission of India in Singapore
At the time, approximately 5,000 Indian companies had been identified and recorded
This effort not only provided valuable insights into the Indian business ecosystem in Singapore but also contributed to strengthening economic and trade linkages between the two nations.
