The ranking, compiled by a U.S. trade body, evaluated nations across 40 key indicators covering political, economic, and demographic realities that support technological innovation. The latest edition expanded its measures to 56 indicators, reflecting a deeper assessment of innovation readiness.
Singapore stood out for its business environment resilience, data transparency, and a legal framework that actively supports innovation. The country’s pro-startup ecosystem, its favourable tax policies, and its friendliness toward small businesses also contributed to the top ranking.
Beyond the business landscape, Singapore also scored highly in workforce diversity, openness to telehealth and cross-border data flows, and its high broadband speeds — all factors that position the republic as a global hub for technology and entrepreneurship.
